Blue and Green Innovation

Innovation in the blue and green sectors has proved to be a massive contributor in the advancement of the sectors at a global level. The overarching use of smart technologies, encompassing artificial intelligence, internet of things, machine learning, blockchain and satellite imagery, have revamped the blue and green sectors, and turned them into rapidly mushrooming and lucrative sectors. Indeed, the blue and green sectors have benefitted from significant attention in small islands developing states, including Mauritius, as alternative economic approaches to tackle the burgeoning financial uncertainty and susceptibility. 

Prior to Les Assises de la Recherche et de l’Innovation, key stakeholders were identified in the blue and green sectors:

During Les Assises de la Recherche et de l’Innovation 2022, on day two, the sectoral forum on Blue and Green Innovation was held. The forum was divided into two sessions, namely a presentation session and the panel discussion. The presentation session comprised of speakers from national, regional and international context.

The panel discussion on blue and green innovation constituted of national, regional and international key stakeholders from the blue and green sectors and was moderated by Dr Mitrasen Bhikajee, Quality Assurance Authority.
